The Jackson home was constructed around 1910 when the region was still a frontier. An example of Florida’s historic “cracker” style of vernacular architecture, it was home to the prolific writer, Laura (Riding) Jackson, for 50 years until her death in 1991. Jackson and her husband, Schuyler, packed citrus in the historic pole barn to supplement her income as a writer. Join us as we celebrate the Florida history and the literary legacy represented by the Jackson home.
