Michael Hettich joins us from Black Mountain, North Carolina to read his poem “Ghost Trees.” Michael was one of our first Poetry and BBQ poets at our “In a Southerly Light” event in 2010 with fellow poets Sean Sexton and Sylvia Corbelo. “Ghost Trees” explores a re-wilding of sorts. Of the land, of the human condition. What a perfect time to explore the nature of nature.
Michael Hettich’s awards include several Florida Individual Artists Fellowships, a Florida Book Award, The Tampa Review Prize in Poetry, and the David Martinson–Meadow Hawk Prize. He often collaborates with visual artists, musicians, and fellow writers. We are honored to have Michael in our Featured Poets line-up, and we hope you’ll decide to learn more about his work here.
