Poets ranging in age from 7 to 17 had a special opportunity this spring, in collaboration with the Gallery at Windsor. The two-part event began in March with a guided tour of the exhibit Left Hand, Right Hand immediately followed by a workshop in the Gallery on ekphrastic poetry led by Board Member Carrie Adams. The students then drafted original poems inspired by the exhibition works.
On April 16, students and their family members attended The Gallery’s Finissage, a celebration at the closing of the exhibition, where they recited their poems in front of more than 65 guests.
The Finissage concluded with the Windsor Charitable Foundation awarding $7,000 to LRJF for our creative writing programming for children!
